Laura Kandle is a NYC-based visual artist working mainly in acrylics and oil pastels. Her work features textured negative spaces and their interplay with color and shape to invoke awe, reflection, and critical contemplation. Using acrylics and gel mediums, oil pastels, foam clay, and found objects, Kandle constructs artworks that draw the viewer into a space beyond the self and the cellphone. Her work serves as an approachable entry point to contemplate the biggest questions about our existence.
Kandle’s works have been displayed locally and internationally including at Atlantic Gallery in Manhattan's Chelsea gallery district, The Gallery at The Factory in Long Island City, in Cairo, Egypt, and at Astoria Arts Center.
